OUR STORY
It all began in autumn of 2015 in the Balkans, while providing water and blankets to Syrian refugees.
Our 7-year story, from volunteering during the Refugee Crisis to the student-led Online Encyclopedia of Migration, to designing the complete media platform for all in the end.

in this Al-Jazeera’ article.
They were blocked in no man's land, on the border between Croatia and Serbia. At that time we could learn a lot about them: their names and stories, cities and towns they left or even why exactly they were stuck and waiting for trains to Germany. Yet at the same time, life in Syria was not displayed as such. Why did they go to the streets, why were they afraid of their relatives, what they believed or what was everyday life in Aleppo.
Since then, we have been learning about the global media system and searching for causes of this knowledge gap. What we found along the way allowed us to concept a new kind of media source and design it in a way that would be most relevant and helpful. Now this would be not only for Syria, but for each country, to understand the reality of our human world.

2015
We are a group of Czech students who serve in the Balkans. After returning, we sought ways to make the covering of this 2015 Migration Crisis story complementary.
2017
The Online Encyclopedia of Migration is launched. The first student-led prototype in the Czech Republic is designed as a digital platform to bridge well-researched migration knowledge.
Possible cooperation with other media and institutions was tested, such as The Story of the Syrian War or Went to Europe.
2019
The prototype only exposed wider gaps and limits of the current global media system. That allowed us to learn of the existing possibilities to create a more comprehensive socio-political coverage of the world.
2021
After a two-year process, we now have an entire concept of the new media source which we aim to launch. A whole new, international team has gathered and is building the foundation of the future prototype.
